Head of Product and Design

Transformed Chartboost into a SaaS advertising technology platform and become a leader in the mobile-gaming advertising space. While setting the design org and the product team from ground-up, I focused on strategically aligning senior executives, developing comprehensive roadmaps, and engaging in customer validation, ensuring sustainable growth and product success.

Getting started from ground up

When I joined the company, I found an environment without a focused design organization, primarily preoccupied with past challenges. My first major initiative was to build a product and design team from the ground up, anchored in user-centric design principles. I led a varied team, including product managers, and directed design projects for major gaming publishers like Zynga and Rollic.

Committed to instilling a design-first, product-oriented mindset, I emphasized building company’s first design system, unified frontend stack (React.js), taking customer-first approach, build core product team culture and was instrumental in carving out career development opportunities for my the team.

Designing at scale

By investing in building design systems, we were able to redesign and execute a unified platform strategy, which was a SaaS AdTech platform for Chartboost to operate at scale to bring $1B in revenue. This approach brought together Monetization, Advertising, and Mediation products under a single umbrella, ensuring a consistent look and feel. Additionally, it allowed for the integration of a unified tech stack, centered around core SaaS agnostic services, enhancing both functionality and user experiences.

Up-leveling a talented team

Upon joining the company, I addressed the overburdened design and product teams by doubling our staff in six months, ensuring expertise in product management, UX, visual/product design, content strategy, design systems, and accessibility. Collaboratively, we defined clear career paths, resulting in multiple promotions to senior and managerial roles within six months, emphasizing our focus on talent development and team growth

Product vision execution

During my tenure at Chartboost/Zynga, I played a pivotal role in fostering alignment among senior executives, ensuring that our technological architecture seamlessly matched our strategic vision. This collaborative effort was instrumental in driving our organization towards the ambitious goal of achieving a $1 billion ad spend. Simultaneously, we embarked on the creation of an innovative ad-tech platform tailored specifically for game publishers, positioning us as pioneers in the field.

Furthermore, I built the comprehensive services and core applications:

  • SaaS core platform, which encompassed crucial components such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), billing systems, advanced analytics,

  • Publisher ad app management onboarding experience

  • App monetization and ad campaign management experience

  • A/B testing Software Development Kits (SDKs)

  • Executed product design strategies, securing funding for major initiatives

  • Executed product branding initiative
