Overview
Peerlyst was required to build it's native mobile app experience since the had community started grow. I took the initiative to drive mobile app project within the company and help define the scope of the product.
Goal
Design and build a mobile app experience that helps infosec professionals connect, learn, and share information.
Research
Identify the needs of infosec professionals in a mobile app since there were none at the time that catered to their market.
Findings
Due to the unavailability of a mobile app for the infosec professionals, they were spammed regularly by vendors, unable to connect with new professionals and to receive any dedicated curated news.
Defined User Personas & Flow
Findings enabled me defining types of users for whom this mobile app. be most beneficial.
Once users were defined, the flow required for the app was easily dealt with. I was able accomplish a lean experience for the set of features which could be deployed progressively.
Visual Design
Due to limited time, we actually took design inspirations from LinkedIn and learnings from our
web-responsive design flow and opted directly for visual designing.
The app was designed with keeping KPIs in mind which were user signs, engagement with content and increase amount of time they browse.
